Following on from the adventures found in 'Cows, Curries and Chaos', Tim and I decided in 2018 to spice things up a little by doing another Rickshaw Run, this time across the notorious, oxygen depleted roof of the India Himalaya.
Commencing in the disputed area of Jammu & Kashmir, our adventurers took their tuk-tuk Horace across some of the highest drivable roads in the world at elevations similar to Everest Base camp. Based out of Leh, Ladakh, otherwise known as Little Tibet, we encountered some craziness we never thought possible including landslides, convoys, hypothermia, altitude sickness, creek crossings, wrong turns, getting bogged, military outposts, monasteries, mischievous monkeys and much, much more. Finishing in the the hill resort capital of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the thousand kilometre adventure took a mere seven days to complete but has provided memories that will forever be etched into my mind.
If you don't have the courage to try a crazy adventure such as this, then please come along for the ride. Written in a similar vein to the Amazon Bestseller 'Cows, Curries and Chaos', this travelogue is sure to have you hanging on for dear life as we dodge trucks and motorbikes while traversing the high altitude mountain passes of the Indian Himalaya.
Monkeys, Mountains and Mayhem available mid 2022.
